Summary
Guy has been spending alot of time with the castevets' lately. Rosemary didn't feel like going because of her period but she wont be alone because Minnie and Laura-Louise, minni's friend, invited themselves over. While rosemary was keeping busy making window cushions for the windows, Minnie gave her a little present, it was the same exact ball-charm that Terry had. A part of her didn't understand why it was given to her. Rosemary couldn't bring herself to wear the charm because of the awkward smell, dispite the fact that Guy thinks it's rude. Everything was going good but something strange happened. Guy heard news that Donald Baumgart, the guy he was going up against on a part, had gone blind and he couldn't do it. Guy became depressed and wouldn't pay Rosemary any mind for days. When Guy finally came to his sense's he apologized and told Rosemary that they should have a baby, and soon. They had a romantic dinner, but Rosemary started to feel a little dizy after the cup of mousse that Minnie gave them. But little to Guy's knowledge, Rosemary didn't finish the mousse, instead she dumped it on her napkin and threw it away. After Rosemary passed out Guy continued to make love to her, and Rosemary noticed that nothing was a dream, but more of a reality. She had a "dream" that something was sracthing her, a "dream" that somebody pushed her through a door into Minnies house and everybody was there, almost like a party, but except that they were naked. She seen something that was almost non-humane and that looked like a monster. From that day forward things between her and Guy hadn't been the same. That passion that they had wasn't the same anymore. A few days had past and Guy told Rosemary that she was pregnant because her period didn't come yet. She didn't believe him but it turned out to be true. Rosemary began wearing that ball charm that Minnie gave her inorder to keep the baby save. The Castevets transferred her to another doctor who they know very well. Roman finally came to visit and found everything suspicious, the castevets, the "special drink that they were giving her, and because of the pain that she was experiencing.
Quote
"There were so many dangers to worry about in the months ahead; fires, falling objects, cars out of control; dangers that had never been dangers before but were dangers now, now that Andrew-or-Susan was begun and living" (Levin 111).
Reaction
Th quote shows how much a mother thinks about when she becomes pregnant. Like Rosemary said all the things that never seemed dangerous before becomes a danger because you have this new life that has started and it's your responsibility to take care of it, even though sometimes they can go a little overboard. The story has become more interesting now that Rosemary's pregnant. Somethings are becoming a little more mysterious, like why did Minnie give them the mousse that made her dizy, and why did Rosemary have that horrible dream that seemed so real? I think that she's into something, some sort of spell and I don't think that the drink that she's given is working, and I can't wait to find out!
